In this form it was produced during following years:
1905 Another name change. The "Simplex" part and the number "40" were dropped. The new name is Mercedes 45 PS.
1909 The last year of production of the 45 PS model. After another name change, the model is now called Mercedes 26/45 PS, where 26 stands for the so-called tax horsepower introduced in Germany. This is a value that was calculated for German cars based on the number of cylinders, capacity and piston stroke, and for foreign cars based on the number of seats and body type. Based on the tax power, the amount of tax was determined.
