1902 Presentation of several models named Mercedes-Simplex. The name was meant to emphasize the ease of use of the new models. Among other things, the 40 PS model was presented. It was the successor to the 35 PS model. The simple body without doors, with two rows of seats was referred to as "baquet".
1903 The last year of production of the 40 PS model. In fact, the same car was produced further as Mercedes-Simplex 40/45 PS.
