In this form it was produced during following years: 1957 Version 180 a introduced. It looked like W 121. It has a slightly wider grill, the chrome slats on the sides of the grill now vary in length. The original version is produced in parallel. 1959 End of production of the 180 and 180 Da versions. Presentation of 180 b and 180 Db versions (with diesel engine). Much wider grill and no bumper guards. In 1961, the 180 c and Dc versions replace the 180 b and 180 Db versions. They differ only by slightly more powerful engines, externally they are identical.
