1972-1976 production years of this generation
1974 The sixth generation of the Thunderbird model, produced between 1972 and 1976, is referred to as the "Big Birds." It was the largest and heaviest generation in the model's history. Only hardtop coupe and landau bodies were available. All model years of this generation have dual round headlights, located on the sides of the slightly protruding grille. Front turn signals are on the corners of the fenders. The '74 is the last year of obvious changes in this generation.
